Critical care is a demanding branch requiring extreme dedication and expertise. It is a sub-speciality that requires knowledge of Internal Medicine and Pulmonology, in addition to Anesthesiology. To work in a critical care unit one needs a thorough knowledge of drugs used, apart from the basic knowledge. One needs to respond to adverse events immediately and thus the working is based on protocols. In critical care, one must be a master of interventions, as interventions need to be performed with precision and urgently. To be an accomplished critical care physician one needs an extensive knowledge background. This course module has been framed to enhance the knowledge of a candidate in critical care management.
