Thesis: “Role of Arthroscopic Synovectomy of Wrist in Cases of Inflammatory Arthritis of The Wrist”, under the supervision of Prof. P.P. Kotwal. It was the first series of wrist arthroscopy from India. We were able to get some very surprising results on Indian patients. It was accepted as a scientific paper in the 61st Annual meeting of the American Society of Hand Surgery (ASSH).
Surgical Career highlights
ARTHROSCOPY and SPORTS MEDICINE: I did the Shoulder Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine fellowship under Dr Keith D Nord in Jackson, Tennessee, USA. This fellowship is accredited by ACGME and recognized by AANA. First Indian to be selected for this fellowship.
During this tenure of fellowship, I had a vast exposure to the art and science of arthroscopy.
The fellowship focused on shoulder arthroscopy and its therapeutic implications. I mastered the skills of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic management of shoulder instability including bankart, hill-sachs, SLAP repair etc. I am privileged to get an exposure in treatment of shoulder injuries with Dr. Keith D Nord, a pioneer in this field. I am well experienced in performing Arthroscopic knee ligament injuries. I have started hip and small joint arthroscopic surgeries in gujrat and regularly performing these at shalby hospital.
ARTHOPLASTY: During this fellowship, I am also learned shoulder replacement for intractable shoulder pathologies. I am incharge of the upper extremity clinic at shalby hospital and regularly performing shoulder and elbow replacement surgeries at shalby hospital. I am also well worsed in complex knee and hip replacement surgeries. Shalby hospital is the largest joint replacement center in India
COMPLEX POLYTRAUMA: I earned extensive experience in polytrauma management and treatment of complex and neglected orthopedic trauma. I was actively involved in planning and implementation and expansion of emergency services in AIIMS.
